Causality and rigor in ex-post impact assessment
Randomized control trials have come to prominence in development economics in the last ten years as a result of the work of Jameel Poverty Action Lab (J-PAL) and the establishment of the International Initiative for Impact Evaluation (3IE) among others.
This project is about SPIA getting to grips with the implications of the "rigor revolution" for ex-post impact assessment of agricultural research. We've been working on a paper on this and will post it here soon.
